RE: 1991 ford 460 oil /filter change

My 1991 Ford E-350 Class C MH with a 460 cid engine was 7qts. with filter. I used Casrol 10w 30 in it and never had a problem. Marty
Then you was getting ripped off for a quart. Or your dip stick was calibrated wrong. The only 385 series engine (370-429-460) to hold more that 6 quarts was the 370/429 medium duty truck engines.

RE: Rear View Mirrors - How Far Outside Beyond Coach?

Our coach is 120 inches wide. Never been to a state that stopped me. Heck, 18 wheelers would not be allowed.
Buy a new tape measure, yours is broke. GRIN..... Maximum allowable width is 102" + safety equipment, ie mirrors. Look at the back of over-the-road trailers. You'll see many that are marked 102" wide. BUT, I will agree that many RVs are running a little wider than the law allows, with awnings extending past the 102" wide bodies.

RE: Incoming WiFi signal booster

No problem. First get this. USB Dongle
Then attach this to the dongle. Bi-Amp
Mount antenna as high as possible and your surfing with the big boys.
If that don't give you what you need, attach a high gain direction antenna to the amp. I fabricated a 12" parabolic reflector to mount the amplifier antenna in. I can touch you 5 miles away by line of sight.

RE: Air Conditioner shedding

With the power solutions at least the A/C that is connected to it should not shed.. The other one might if you use electric to heat water and run the mickey wave at the same time.
But the one on the PSRV adapter should be 100% independent of the rest of the coach, not even hooked to the power control center. WHEN USING THE ADAPTER
Of course when you have the adapter plugged into itself.. It is like it came from the factory.
John, The EMS used by Fleetwood is from Intellitec. It uses an ATR (Automatic Transfer Relay) to isolate the second AC from the 30 amp service, when it sees EMF on the second generator breaker. Thus when using the Power Solutions adapter, the rear AC is NOT on the 30 amp service. The EMS can then use the whole 30 amps to run all the other devices on the coach. The OP shouldn't see shedding unless he exceeds 30 amps with devices other than the rear AC. It's possible that the ATR or the EMS system is malfunctioning. One of the members on the bounder Forum retrieved this information direct from Intellitec. Hope this helps.

RE: Fuel Injection?

Ford introduced the F53, 460 in 1988 w/port EFI. Oshkosh continued to build chassis into the early 90 with carbureted Ford 460s.

RE: Cruise control

You are probably working on a F53 chassis, not a F550. Unless you are working on a Class"C". Here's a link to the wiring schematic for the cruse control. You may want to down load the image so you can blow it up a little. Schematic.

RE: FMCA at North Little Rock

Yup, There was problems. We arrived on the 23rd. Was parked in the "gravel pit". Generators were in place and running. Some of the service cables and distribution panels wasn't hooked up until the next day. What I don't understand is why some didn't know how to use their MH generators until the problems were corrected. Aren't our coaches supposed to be self sustaining? The shuttle service was deficient for the first 2 days. North Little Rock was over whelmed with 900+ MHs. BUT! NLR picked up the pace and added all the necessary generators and distribution equipment. Then they added vehicles to the shuttle service. Usually the police department is brought out in force to protect the town's people from the visitors. In this case the police protected the visitors from the town's people. GRIN......There was all sorts of free goodies offered by NLR. ie free street car service to all FMCA members, free entrance to all NLR museums. The nightly entertainment was excellent, even though the presentations run a little long. I didn't see any one hassled by the police for any of the many violation by FMCA members. My hat is off to NLR and the FMCA for taking the bull by the horns and fixing the problems ASAP.

RE: running 2 ac's on 30 amp service

No sir. 30 amp service, 30 amp main breaker, 30 amp plug. Both air conditioners are serviced thru the 30 amp panel. There is not a separate 'generator only' line for the rear ac.
Charlie, what you have is a double pole breaker. That's two 30 amp breakers with one lever. So you do have 60amps of service at your main panel when on the generator.

OK, I give up. Why does a 7500 watt diesel generator have only one 30 amp breaker, when it is capable of making over 60 amps? That's just nuts. No manufacture in their right mind would build such a setup.

RE: do they make a pex compression type fitting drain valve?

If you would like to retain the original low point drain valves, this tool might just be for you.
http://www.clamptitetools.com/
While at the FMCA national in St Paul, MN, I came across the ClampTite vendor. After a demo on Pex tubing, I decided his system is a must for a DIYers tool box. The tool and a pound of wire was $35.00. Makes no difference how big or small. it will clamp it securely.
So they did a demo using that system specifically on typical pex connections and in place of pex crimp fittings?
price sounds very cool and it would make it cheaper and easier, fitting wise, but i wonder what the "experts" would say about that alternative?
Yup, I specifically requested he do a demo on Pex.
It does take a little getting used to. Your first fitting or two will be ugly. Then you'll catch on.

RE: Need spring in my step

If it's not a P30 there might not even be an equivalent GM part. Workhorse buys parts from vendors, not necessarily GM.
Ah, but it is a "P" chassis. The "W" chassis and F53 chassis have leaf springs on the front.

RE: running 2 ac's on 30 amp service

So far, I don't think any of the solutions will work with my Intellitech based EMS. halgo should have the same system.
Has anyone used any of these approaches with an Intellitech EMS?
Yes. Several of us on the Yahoo/Bounder Forum have used the Power Solution or my Clone with success. Intellitech's EMS has a separate transfer relay that detects the generator or 20 amp add-on and switches the rear AC off the 30 amp service. Thus allowing 30 amps for the front AC and the other services on the main circuit breaker.
Well, can you help me out a little here? Your procedure applies to generators with 2 breakers. My 7500 watt diesel generator only has one breaker.
Charlie, The mod we are talking about applies to 30 amp service. I suspect your coach w/7500 watt generator, has 50 amp service. This thread don't apply to your RV.

I elected to go with the Artec T3AP-Pro. It has analogue pass-through and will operate on 12 volts.

RE: HWH motor/pump noise

ok, that makes some sense. do you have a link on the how to of removing the shuttle valve? I have seen it in the pdf on hwh but do you pull the whole valve body or what?
The shuttle valve is under one end of the "U" shaped metal line on the manifold block. It'll be the end with the big fitting going into the manifold. It's not screwed tight in the manifold, but sealed with on rings on it circumference. That way it can be aligned with the metal line. If memory serves me correctly, it's about 60 bucks.

how can i wire a 2001 bounder motorhome with ems to run both ac's with adding 20 amp cord?
As already noted, Power Solutions has a kit to accomplish what you want. Or you could follow the instruction on my Power Solutions Clone page and save a few bucks.

If you have coil springs, then you have a "P" chassis. Hendersonlineup has what you need. Coil springs that don't need air bags.
